Sierra Leone: NEA halts online voting due to technical glitch

Lake production Sierra Leone limited, has informed the public that it has halted its online voting for a forthcoming awards ceremony of the National Entertainment Awards (NEA) because it has observed technical difficulties.

 Lake production is among the biggest entertainment award governing body in Sierra Leone, and it put out the statement via a public notice read by its Director of Operations on Tuesday November 24, 2020.  The Director, Sheku Putka Kamara, informed the General Public that  the online/website voting for the NEA 2020 awards organized by LAKE Production is yet to start, because the Production Team , charged with handling online and media relations was  then facing some technical issues. He added: “but plans are on the way to sort things out in the next 72 hours or earlier.”

Kamara also revealed that NEA and team had also put plans in place to ensure that fans both in and out of Sierra Leone will in the meantime be able to vote for their favorite entertainers.

“Meanwhile, fans and industry professionals are reminded that the SMS Voting system via Qcell remains active and that it is one sure way of coming out victorious,” he said. He added that all the details are in earlier fliers and notices that had been put out.
