Sierra Leone: Orange Foundation commissions modern preschool

Orange Foundation Sierra Leone has on Monday March 15, 2021, commissioned a modem preschool at Mayakie Village, Kambia District.

The school was constructed under the ‘Early childhood development center school project’.

In her statement, the Chief Executive Officer Orange-SL, Aminata Kane said that the day is a very special one because babies have been catered for. She said kids should have a place to have better education.

While commissioning the school, the Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Dr David Moinina Sengeh said that stakeholders within the community and supervisors of schools have critical roles to play in ensuring that the school function effectively, and to take ownership of the school.

He said that free quality education is not for President Bio, but for the benefit of the children of Sierra Leone.

He said what Orange Sierra Leone has done so far is to complement government’s efforts in promoting quality education.

He thanked the community teachers and the people of the community for their tremendous support towards education.

He said that   Ministry will develop a scheme to enhance growth within the provincial schools because Freetown is not Sierra Leone.
