Sierra Leone: Police officer testifies in burglary trial

Detective Police Sergeant 10641 Kamara I, attached to the Cyber Unit, Kissy Police Division, has on Tuesday  November 24, 2020, testified in the ongoing burglary and larceny matter at the Ross Road Magistrate Court No 1 presided by Magistrate Alhaji Sulaiman Koroma.

The witness recalled on September 29, 2020 whilst he was on duty, one of his colleagues PC 14958 Emma, attached to the Approved School Police Post, informed him of a case of burglary and larceny and requested him to accompany her to the scene of crime at No. 2 Pato Drive, Jalloh Terrace in Freetown.

The witness told the court that on his arrival at the crime scene, he saw an iron bar on the side window which was allegedly damaged by the accused. He also stated that the complainant identified various locations in her room where her property were placed before they were cratered away by the accused.

Officer Kamara said that he took various photographs at the crime scene which he tendered to form part of the court records.

The accused (John Alie Sankoh) is standing trial on one count charge of Burglary and Larceny contrary to section 25(1) and 13 of the Larceny Act 1916.
