Sierra Leone: Pst. Mambu lights up four communities

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Faith Healing Agricultural Development farm, Pastor Francis A.M Mambu – has provided 18 solar lights to Yainkassa, Royeama, Madrissa, and Woreh-yeama towns in the Makari Chiefdom, Bombali District.

Presenting the already installed solar lights, Pastor Mambu expressed his willingness to change lives beyond preaching the word of God.

He told the beneficiaries: “Papa God don pull wuna pa darkness” literally meaning: “God has brought you out of darkness”, citing from the Holy Bible – when God first created light with a pronouncement: “Let There Be Light!”.

He spoke about the importance of light to the improvement of mankind’s wellbeing and development. “This is something I planned as a gift for Christmas,” Pastor Mambu remarked.

The four communities including Yainkassa – the host village of FHAD – neither have access to the national power grid nor solar light. Known for his life-changing passion, the Man of God disclosed: “Upon preparing to install solar lights around the farm, I realized it will be inappropriate to abandon the surrounding communities in darkness.”

He believes that the solar lights would improve the life and safety of the inhabitants and their school going children.

Pastor Mambu thanked the chiefs and residents of the four villages, and encouraged them to see themselves as stewards of the Faith Healing Agricultural Development farm.

According to the Man of God, the installments of the solar lights worth over Le35 million will not mark the end of his zest to making life better for people living in that part of Sierra Leone. He has vowed to build them a Junior Secondary School by September 2021, and a rice mill centre, and a marketplace to enable farmers sell their products to local traders.

Over the years, the ‘Preacher-farmer’ has not only been providing the various farmer groups with machineries and seed rice, but also with seed money for micro-finance savings, though he pays for their labour on the farm.

Section Chiefs of the four villages and Ward Councilor thanked Pastor Mambu for his generosity. Councilor Musa described the day as one of his happiest.

Youth leaders and chairladies added: “With the solar lights, our school going children can now study at night. As youths, we can play games till 3:00am; the lights have brought happiness to our families and improve security.”
