Sierra Leone: SFLP Donates Learning Materials To 154 Pupils

Support for the Less Privileged (SFLP), a humanitarian organization has donated School materials to 154 school children in the Tengbeh Town Community.

The donated item is for 2020-2021 academic year and was done over the weekend at the Grace Evangelical Baptist Church at Tengbeh Town in the west of Freetown.

Chosen from Tengbeh Town Community, the 154 children include scholars from classes 3 and 6 in different primary schools, in the community.

In his keynote address, Amadu Kamara one of the partners of the organization maintained that the vision came through the founder and partner, Paul Lahai Koroma who is currently in the United Kingdom.

He said that because of Paul’s heart of giving out of the little that he has since the time he was in Sierra Leone; they are now giving out the community and hope to do more.

Kamara continued that they started giving back to their community Veronica Buckets when the coronavirus was at the peak in the country, noting that through suggestion from other members, they are now giving out to ease the burden on parents by providing school materials.

“To a greater extent we have achieved something which we have been yearning to do. We are giving 154 children for this year instead of 150. Don’t be angry if your name is not on the list today, there is more to come,” he expressed.

He urged the children to take their education very important, as education pays more than anything in the world.

The gestures he said is a way for them to show their gratitude to the community, noting that the donation has nothing to do with politics because they don’t have any intention for that but to support their community.

One of the stakeholders of the community, Pa U.B. Conteh expressed joy and thanked the founder and partners for their support.

He stated that what the organization has done does not mean that they are rich, but that they have a heart of giving; and they happy as a community to receive such gesture.

He urged members of the community to count these gestures one by one and pray for more provision for the organization in order to continue such support.
