Sierra Leone: SLFA General Secretary gets WAFU appointment

The General Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Christopher Kamara, has been appointed by the West African Football Union (WAFU Zone A) to serve in the Disciplinary Committee of the U17 AFCON Tournament which is set to be hosted in Senegal from Friday, February 5th to Saturday, February 13th 2021.

According to a press statement issued by SLFA, the appointment has put the SLFA scribe in a key position in the management of the said African youth tournament making him one of few Sierra Leoneans to serve in such a high profile capacity in the administration of African football.

Mr. Kamara has been officially invited to join his colleague committee members in Senegal to witness the tournament and provide over-all disciplinary guidance on matters relating to the AFCON U17 Qualifiers.

Speaking to Premier News Mr. Kamara registered his delight over being appointed adding that his appointment will continue to Sierra Leone glow in the map of Africa. However, he called on every Sierra Leonean to continue praying for the national u-17 team and also for him to succeed.
