Sierra Leone’s U-17 football team held the Central African Republic (CAR) to a goalless draw in the first leg of the FIFA U-17 World Cup AFCON Qualifiers at the Southern Arena over the weekend. Despite failing to capitalize on their home advantage, the team remains optimistic about securing qualification in the second leg scheduled for January 17–19, 2025.
Preparations Underway
The team resumed training on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Academy field. Coach Karim expressed confidence in the squad, emphasizing their ability to secure a victory in the away fixture against CAR.
The Road to Morocco

A Milestone for Female Football
Sierra Leone’s recent success in the Women’s U-17 World Cup qualifiers also highlights the nation’s strides in female football.
