Maccabaeus Eber, the CEO of Unique Multimedia, a non-profitable organization that aims at promoting African culture, empowering youths by exposing the talents in them, has disclosed to Premier News on Saturday June 6, 2020, that the organization has produced over 67 musicians since it was established in January 2020 in Freetown.
CEO Eber said that, the media started it operations in Bo southern Sierra Leone in 2019, where it trained over 14 people in skills such as graphic design, drama, music etc. He added that the talents they have helped showcased have been on both audio and video platforms.
“The media was established in Liberia in 2012 and it started as ‘Unique Movies Production’ but in 2017 was renamed Unique Multimedia. As an organization aimed at promoting African culture and promoting youths across Africa, we had to come to Sierra Leone to give our humanitarian support to the less privilege ones,” he continued.
He emphasized, that as an organization which aims at empowering the youths, they go out for talented youths without opportunities and financial support to realize their dreams and pursue a career. “We grab such people, nurture them, give them ideas and basic educational skills and promote them through our little resources that we have,” he said.
Eber explained that, he is a promoter, producer and a graduate Film Maker from a university in Liberia and another in Nigeria.
He added that many people had realized their dreams and live in their careers through Unique Multimedia, and added that, they are helping to raise people’s awareness of how their culture works and also of how to be independent and change the face entertainment in Sierra Leone.
He said, “we are here to bring peace in the minds of youths, help them to stay away from arm robbery and make them realize their culture as Africans.”
He revealed that, all of their operations have been affected by the outbreak of Coronavirus, and furthered that, entertainers used to make shows, MCs staging programs, musicians used do performances and earn money, but due to the outbreak all aspects of entertainment have been affected. “Even though the situation has happened as this, I am still calling on everyone, not only the entertainers to put fingers across and help fight the virus,” he emphasized.
