Sierra Leone: US based musician establishes music label in S/Leone

Claudius Harding, popularly known as Hard-IN, a Sierra Leonean musician based in the United States of America, has on Thursday February 4, 2021, said that he has established ‘Hero’s Entertainment’, a music record label in Freetown. He contends that the aim of the label is to promote Sierra Leone music, uplift local musicians, and produce good music that would help transform musicians and raise the profile of the music industry in Sierra Leone to international standard.

Hard-IN recalled that as upcoming artist, he had been rejected from recording his songs by some producers.

“You would have the talent to do your best, but as a result of lack of management your talent will die without you being given the platform to showcase it.

He revealed to Premier News that he has just signed Kwame Omely, a local musician, and also he hopes to sign more local musicians. He explained that before now, Desmond Finney mentored him for a while and later sent him to Spencer Coker, Emerson Bockarie’s first music producer.

He advised musicians to be hard working. “There is no magic if one wants to be a successful person; unity and love for one another are the magic words that lead the way to success.

He said that the music industry in other nations is improving as a result of unity. “When an artist releases a song, his colleagues rally around him till something big happens to him. The music industry in Sierra Leone has all what it takes to improve on its output but disunity is a hindrance. So I encouraged musicians and other stakeholders in the industry to work as one body in order to see that Sierra Leone music storm the world,” he concluded.
