Sierra Leone: Vice President Calls on Miss Europe 2020 to Promote Sierra Leone

The Vice President of Sierra Leone Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has called on Miss Europe 2020 Larra Jalloh to promote Sierra Leone’s image in and outside Europe. Vice President Jalloh informed the Sierra Leonean born Miss Europe 2020 about her role in promoting the country’s beauty, culture, and tourism sector to the outside world. The Honourable Vice President, therefore, explained that Sierra Leone is proud to build a relationship with Miss Jalloh that will enhance and promote Sierra Leone tourism opportunities outside Sierra Leone. The Vice President made the remarks during a courtesy visit by Miss Europe 2020 at his Tower Hill Office in Freetown on Friday 15th January 2021.

Vice President Jalloh described her nomination as an honor for the people of Sierra Leone. Dr. Jalloh formally welcomed her into Sierra Leone on behalf of the Government and people of Sierra Leone, and congratulated Miss Larra Jalloh for her nomination. He informed Miss Jalloh of Sierra Leone showcasing Miss Europe 2020 as one of the country’s finest Ambassadors outside, this is to ensure that the world becomes aware that Miss Jalloh’s origin is from Sierra Leone. Vice President Jalloh reminded Miss Europe 2020 that she is not only Ambassador for France and Europe but for Sierra Leone. The Honourable Vice President maintained that the use of international programmes by Miss Jalloh to tell her audience in Europe of Sierra Leone being her origin, will make her audience know that she is from Sierra Leone.

The Honourable Vice President informed Miss Jalloh about the huge investment made by the Government of Sierra Leone to expand the tourism sector. The Vice President further opined on Government plans to make Sierra Leone great in terms of tourism. Dr. Jalloh thanked the Chief Executive Officer of the African Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire- Ambassador Anthony Junior Navo for the role the Empire has played towards the development of Sierra Leone, especially the contribution in the tourism sector. The Vice President expressed hope to see activities in the tourism sector that will showcase the country as the New Direction Sierra Leone, and assured Miss Jalloh of Government’s continued support towards her.

Miss Larra Jalloh expressed her gratitude for the honor bestowed on her by the Government and people of Sierra Leone. She informed the audience of being proud to have her origin from Sierra Leone.

Ambassador Anthony Junior Navo explained about the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between AYV and Africell to promote Sierra Leone to the outside world. Ambassador Navo encouraged successful Sierra Leoneans abroad to come home and contribute towards the development of the country, and he cited Miss jalloh’s visit to Sierra Leone as an example that should be emulated. He told the gathering of the working relationship that is existing between him and Miss Europe 2020 to promote development in Sierra Leone. He thanked Miss Jalloh for her enthusiasm to promote tourism in Sierra Leone.
