Sierra Leone’s final African Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin will now take place in Guinea after serious negotiation between football authorities of both countries.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) put out a statement banning the country’s stadium because it does not meet the minimum conditions for hosting international matches.
After the agreement had been reached, the Sierra Leone Football Association reported it to CAF. CAF then approved ‘stade du 28 septembre’ as the new venue for the Sierra Leone-vs-Benin encounter on March 30, 2021.
Sierra Leone’s senior men’s football team are currently 3rd position in the ongoing African Cup of Nations qualifying table for Cameroon next year.
