Sam Leslie Sesay, aka Csay, a Sierra Leonean Musician who had worked in Sierra Leone, Ghana, the United States of America, now owns Csay Music Global Management, a business which he currently heads in Australia.
Sesay grew in a musical family. His mother teaches music, and his father, now deceased, was a gifted player of several musical instruments.
In 2001 Csay lost his father and after that decided to start a new life in Australia, his musical adventure took him to a higher level.
According to ‘Csay’, from a young age he realized that wherever he went people love music.
“No matter where I go people listen to music, people love music and they related with it. Music heals the soul, gives power and serves as therapy to human beings,” he emphasized.
In the late 1990’s after completing secondary school education, he joined “Planet Sound Records” where he produced numerous songs, and has worked with Sierra Leonean musicians like Daddy SAJ, YOK 7, Sahr Issa etc.
He moved to Tema , in Ghana, where he worked and produced music with some of that country’s musicians then, like Nana King, Nana Fynne, Ochame Kwame etc. He was also a supporting artist for the global RnB legends, Boys 2men’s concert in Ghana.
“I grew up with music, listening to music, understanding music and most importantly I grew up to understand the power of music. Music is my life, Music is my culture, and Music is who I am,” he says.
Csay later joined paradise records with Jimmy B when he was part of a L2M which was a musical group working with Lenny Nye, Med. B and others.
He is presently resided in Sydney Australia where he was a supporting artist for some of Awilo concerts in Sydney, and Flavor in Perth.
Csay is incredibly talented diverse artist with huge insight in genres like RnB, Soul, Hip Hop, Rock, Dance hall and most recently Afro beat. He is a highly adaptable artist that understands the progression and growth in music. Csay is currently working global projects with Possigee one of Ghana’s best producers, and Andrew wright of forest studios in Australia.
