SLCA Holds Talks with British Envoy

The Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) has on Tuesday, March 1,2022, held discussion with the British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Lisa Chesney, in a bid to foster growth and investment opportunities in crickets.

The talks were geared towards five key focused areas namely: the Sussex Cricket Project, the Fourah Bay College Cricket Project, school cricket, women’s cricket, and improved equipment.

In her remark, the British High Commissioner, Lisa Chesney said that she is aware of the existing bond between the United Kingdom and Sierra Leone, and promised to share the proposal with development partners.

Chesney was pleased with strides made by SLCA to develop cricket in the country.

She requested SLCA to play a match in recognition of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II to mark the 70th anniversary of her ascension to the throne on February 6, 1952.

The Head of Media of SLCA, Alie Sonta Kamara spoke about the need to focus on long term projects.

SLCA vouched to present copies of pending project to the British High Commissioner.
