SLFA Completes FIFA MA Course for 35 Youth Referees in Bo City

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has proudly announced that it has successfully completed the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) MA Course for Youth Referees in Bo City. The course was concluded on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024. Thirty-five young boys and girls from across the nation, all eager to advance their skills and knowledge under the esteemed guidance of FIFA Instructors participated in the training.

The course was conducted by FIFA Referees Senior Instructor, Celestine Ntagungira, who emphasized the importance of applying the imparted knowledge impartially. Ntagungira expressed confidence in the participants, highlighting that “they are the future referees FIFA anticipates officiating significant matches globally.”

Yayah Mansaray, the Secretary General of the Southern Region, represented SLFA at the event. In his address, Mansaray expressed gratitude to the facilitators for their dedication and effort in educating the young referees. He encouraged the participants to utilize their newly acquired skills and assured them of more such courses in the future to further enhance the development of young referees in Sierra Leone.

The successful completion of this course marks a significant step in the SLFA’s ongoing efforts to develop and professionalize refereeing in Sierra Leone, ensuring that the future of football officiating in the Country is in capable hands.
