SLPLB Announces Transfer Window Dates and Compliance Guidelines

By Desmond Tunde Coker

The Sierra Leone Premier League Board (SLPLB) has officially announced the opening and closing dates for the second phase of the transfer window. According to the announcement: “The second phase of the transfer window will officially open on Saturday, 29th March 2025, and close on Thursday, 17th April 2025, in accordance with Article 8.8 of the league’s Rules and Regulations.”

During this period, clubs will be permitted to register, transfer, and loan players, provided they adhere to the league’s transfer regulations. All transactions must be finalized within the given timeframe to ensure compliance with the competition’s rules.

Additionally, SLPLB has identified violations involving inconsistent jersey numbers among some clubs. Instead of maintaining designated squad numbers for the season, players have been assigned different numbers for different matches. This practice is in breach of league regulations, and clubs are urged to discontinue it immediately to avoid disciplinary actions.

As the first phase of the 2024/25 Sierra Leone Premier League nears its conclusion, Bhantal FC continues to lead the Leone Rock table following the successful completion of the fifteenth week of matches.
