Susan Koker Becomes First Female Deputy Director General of SLCS

Freetown, Sierra Leone – In a groundbreaking appointment, Madam Susan Baby Koker has been named the first female Deputy Director General of the Sierra Leone Correctional Service (SLCS). During a heartfelt thanksgiving service at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Wilberforce on Sunday, February 2, 2025, Koker dedicated her new role to God.

The service was a joyous occasion, attended by family, friends, and well-wishers. Following the ceremony, attendees celebrated with a feast in the church compound, sharing food and socializing in a lively and uplifting atmosphere.

In his sermon, the preacher highlighted the long-standing tradition of dedication, tracing its roots back to the time of the Israelites. He explained that dedication symbolizes purification and commitment to God, representing the redemption of the soul.
