Theft at Star Travelling Agency, Accused Pleads Guilty

One Mohamed Kamara who identified himself as a Motor Driver, was yesterday sentenced by Magistrate Mark Ngegbe of the Pademba Road Court No.1 to 3 years in prison or to pay a fine of NLe 5,000 after he pleaded guilty on a count charge of Larceny Contrary to Law.
The accused was charged with larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
The particulars of offence states that the accused on Thursday 16th November 2023 at 13b Rawdon Street Freetown, stole the sum of NLe 5,000 property of Star Travel Agency whilst in custody of Reshab Singh.
In another development, one Fatmata Binta Bah was also charged to court on the charge of possession of prohibited drugs without Lawful Authority contrary to section 8 (a) of the National Drugs Control Act 2008.

It was alleged that the accused on Wednesday 8th November, 2023 at No. 11 Naimbana Street Freetown, was found in possession of prohibited drugs, 110 wraps of kush, weighing 44.0 grams without lawful authority.
Shortly after the matter was mentioned with both lawyer and witness absent, the matter was adjourned to the 15th of December, 2023 for the prosecution to open their case.
