By Desmond Tunde Coker

The Western Area Football Association membership has on Friday, June 30th, 2023 re-elected Pastor Phillip Buck as their Chairman for a second term of four years. The election was held at the Senior Police Officers Mess, at Kingtom in Freetown.

The election was held after the incumbent’s four-year mandate expired, making it necessary for it to be renewed, which the Chairman of the Congress, Mr. Abdul Richard Mansaray Esq. explained to the press. He furthered that according to the guidelines set by Western Area Football Association (WAFA), some applicants sent in their applications late, while others did not meet the requirement set by WAFA that they should obtain police clearances to show that they did not have any criminal records, which some of them could not produce because they never had it and we’re disqualified for that reason. The following were elected into office.
