The head Coach of the National U15 Alimu Koroma, on Monday, August 15, 2022 said that they got a team of determined and focused young boys who could make a change and raise the flag of the county.
He made this statement during a news conference in Freetown ahead of the team’s departure to Monrovia, Liberia for the 2nd edition of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) under-15 male tournament.
Coach Alimu said that it was a rigorous process with so many challenges in putting the boys together from trials to selection and finally getting a twenty-one-man squad for the tournament.
“It has not been an easy process, but with a committed Technical team we tried as much as possible to recruit twenty-one players strictly on merit,” he said.
Coach Alimu said that despite the challenges, he acknowledged the efforts of the Sierra Leone Football Association for being very supportive to his team.
He also praised the current Youth Football Coordinator at SLFA, Alimamy Kuriash Conteh for his tremendous support throughout this time.
“We have got a team of determined and focused young boys and I would like to state here that this is the first time to recruit up to 12 players from the provinces which shows how biased free the process was,” he disclosed.
