The communications officer at Africell, Elizabeth Bockarie has filed a suit against one Gabriel Foray Bambay for Larceny contrary to Law.
The accused who identified himself as a carpenter and house help to the complainant was said to have ransacked the house of the complainant and stole computer.
The accused appeared before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.3 in Freetown.
The accused Bambay is charged on a count of Larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the charge sheet, the accused Gabriel Foray Bambay on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Nelson Lane, White Stick, Tengbeh Town, Freetown, stole one laptop gcomputer valued at NLe6000, property of Elizabeth Bockarie.
After the charges were put to him, the accused who was not represented by a Lawyer, was denied bail and remanded in custody until September 5, 2022.
Sergeant 3379 Ballay T. is Prosecuting the matter.
In another development, Magistrate Bangura discharged one Abu Bakarr Biba Kamara who was accused by one Mohamed Talib for stealing his bag that contains different items amounted to NLe 96,000.
Shortly after the matter was mentioned, the Prosecutor Chief Inspector Francis Macauley informed the Court that there is no witness, and he is applying for the subpoena to be directed to the Investigating Officer.
While speaking in court, the accused told the Court that since March 2022, no person has come forward to testify against him.
In that light of that Magistrate Bangura said it is not right, and it’s unfair.
Magistrate Bangura discharged the accused for want of prosecution.
