One Gbassay Kamara has explained how she was allegedly robbed by Mohamed Mansaray, Yusuf Kabba and Ishmeal Junior Bangalie at her building site at Ogoo Farm.
It is alleged that on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Ogoo Farm in the Western Area Rural District, the accused persons conspired with other persons unknown to robbed complainant Gbassay Kamara.
All three accused persons are before Magistrate Marke Ngegba on two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony and robbery with violence contrary to law.
On count two, the police alleged that all three accused persons robbed with violence complainant Gbassay Kamara one brown bag and other property worth over Millions of Leones and in the process used violence on her.
The complainant recognized all three accused persons and said on the date of the incident, she was at her building site at Ogoo Farm when the accused person attacked her with weapons and third accused demanded that she handed over her bag.
“My Lord on seeing the weapon I urinate on myself,” she stated.
The complainant said the second accused pushed her on the ground and when she get up and tried to run and first accused order his cohorts to leave her as she was pregnant.
She said after the incident, she went and made the report at Adonkia Police Station where she was issued ith a police medical request form to go for examination and treatment.
Testing her evidence in cross-examination by Defense Counsel AK Kamara, complainant said she came to know the accused on the date of the alleged incident.
She denied having knowledge of the land in question surrounding dispute.
She said that her bag was given back to her after the accused have removed all her belonging inside.
Talking about her phone which was also snatched from her, she said the accused persons return it back to the police after she made the report.
At the conclusion of cross-examination, defense counsel AK Kamara applied for bail for and on behalf of his client, citing section 79 of the Criminal Procedure Act of 1965. He said his clients wwere not flight risk and if granted bail will avail themselves in court.
The prosecutor objected to bail on the ground of promoting sanity.
Having heard from both sides Magistrate Marke Ngegba granted bail to the accused persons in the sum of forty Millions Leones each with sureties in like sum. He said the sureties should be responsible citizens and that their bail should be approved by the deputy Acting Registrar. The matter comes up again on March 7, 2022.
