Yan-Fara Contah Family to Present I-Bangs in Grand Musical Performance

The Yan-Fara Contah Family, one of the renowned and house name family in Bramaia Chiefdom in kambia district northern Sierra Leone,  is set to thrill fans and supporters with an electrifying event featuring the talented I-Bangs, scheduled for Friday, December 29th, 2024, in Kukuna Town the chiedom’s headquater . The show kicks off at 9:00 p.m., promising an evening filled with entertainment, community spirit, and celebration.

According to Alusine Kamara, one of the show organizers, the show is will be a platform to bring together the family who have been away for many years. “We believe in the power of music, and this is reason we are making this show. We believe that I-Bangs is one of the few professional musicians who can help us achieve this dream. His soulful voice and the messages his lyrics really speak is what we hire him than any other musician. His musical background as well moves us,” Kamara said.

Under the motto “Stand 4 Contehya 4 Betteh”, the Yan-Fara Contah Family has organized this event to celebrate music, talent, and togetherness. The night will showcase I-Bangs, a rising star and a beacon of talent, whose performances continue to resonate with fans across Sierra Leone and beyond.

The promotional flyer reveals an exciting glimpse of I-Bangs in sleek, stylish attire, signaling his readiness to deliver a top-notch show. The family-oriented event underscores not only entertainment but also unity and cultural pride, a sentiment captured perfectly in the family’s motto.

Community members and music lovers in Kukuna Town and surrounding areas are eagerly looking forward to this much-anticipated performance. I-Bangs has built a reputation for his captivating style, blending powerful vocals with heartfelt melodies, making him one of the standout performers to watch.

Abubakar Sidiqu Conteh another organizer of the show emphasizes that the event is open to everyone, encouraging people of all ages to come together to enjoy a night of music, joy, and celebration. “This event is not just about entertainment; it’s about connecting families, strengthening bonds, and showcasing homegrown talent,” Coneth said.

As the countdown to December 29th begins, excitement is building across the community, with expectations high for an unforgettable evening. For fans of I-Bangs and supporters of local talent, this is a golden opportunity to witness a performance that will leave lasting memories.

I-Bangs started a career in music at the Ballanta Academy of Music and Performing Arts (BAMPA) in 2015 as a voice student. He further went on to study other musical instruments like the keyboard, guitar and flute. He is currently studying the piano at and the flute at BAMPA.

He has had five certificates in music: a Merit in grade 5 music theory from the Associate Board of Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2019; a Distinction in grade two flute practical in 2021 and a Merit in Flute grade three flute practical in 2023 from Music Teachers Board (MTB) in the UK, a Certificate in Music Performance from BAMPA in 2023 and a Certificate in Audio-Video Production from Nafora-Ba from the Ivory Coast in 2023.

He is a singer-songwriter who has contested in national and international singing competitions. In 2019, he contested in the Vocal Drift Inspire Singing Competetion where he topped the first audition among other incredible singers in Freetown. In 2024 under the managemnet of Godson 3Gs Music Management based in Swizerland, I-Bangs was auditioned for the Britain Got Talent Singing Competetion where he sang ‘Lift Me Up’ originally done by Rihanna and he also played the flute of ‘My Heart Will Go On’ a song done by Celine Dion. But this did not come to reality due to his broke up with the management.

I-Bangs holds a Diploma in Mass Communications from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. He is a final year student at FBC pursuing a BA in Mass Communications (Broadcast Journalism).
